World Veganism - past, present and future - e-book by John Davis

We're a little bit late on this one, the news being released back in July over on Vegsource, but what the heck, it's pretty cool, so we thought we'd post it anyway.

John Davis, manager of the International Vegetarian Union (IVU) and historian began blogging about the history of veganism and much more back in 2010.

His blogs from 2010-2012 have been turned into a rather spiffy and informative e-book entitled World Veganism - past, present and future.

World Veganism - What's in it?

The blog-book (did we just invent a word?) is divided into seven sections with multiple blog posts within each:
  • History
  • Regions with histories
  • IVU with histories
  • World view
  • Activism around the UK
  • Directions
  • Postscript
John Davis includes information on veganism/vegetarianism in different regions around the world, giving an interesting picture of veg happenings outside of the Western world.

The posts are short and John's writing style is informal, so you needn't be intimidated by the length of the book. Of course, you can use the super-handy hyper-linked contents page to transport you to where you would like to go.  In the book that is.  Although, I would like to know when teleportation is going to become a thing; that's like hyper-links IRL.

You can download a copy of John's e-book (or blog-book) in PDF (7mb) World Veganism - past, present and future.
